Andrei Kirilenko told Sergey Karasev recently that he had to be more aggressive in both FIBA and NBA games. He apparently took the advice to heart.
Karasev, who arrived back in Russia on Friday took to the court Tuesday in a friendly gave vs. Estonia. In a little more than 12 minutes, the 6'7" shooting guard had 13 points (80% field goal shooting), six rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a blocked shot.
The game was an unmitigated Russian blowout with Timofey Mozgov dominating with 15 points as the Russians won, 92-48. Karasev is expected to get big minutes this weekend when Russia goes to Germany for a friendly tournament in preparation for the FIBA Europe Qualifying Tournament, which starts August 10.
