Ken Berger reports that longtime assistant GM Bobby Marks is one of four candidates for the top job in Memphis and has already been interviewed by Chris Wallace and owner Robert Pera's team.
The Memphis Grizzlies' search for a general manager-in-waiting to work with recently reappointed GM Chris Wallace has focused so far on Nets assistant GM Bobby Marks, Pacers vice president Peter Dinwiddie, Knicks director of pro personnel Mark Hughes and former Raptors and Knicks GM Glen Grunwald, league sources told CBSSports.com.
Marks is an expert capologist --advising not just the Nets but Larry Coon as well. He also played a key role in the Paul Pierce - Kevin Garnett trade, laying the initial groundwork with his counterpart in Boston, Mike Zarren.
Marks is a Nets lifer, starting out in the team's public relations staff as an intern, working his way up the ladder to assistant GM under both Rod Thorn and Billy King.
