The Nets will be back in Coney Island this summer, their second by the sea, selling team gear near the world famous beach and hoops haven that has given the world Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair, Lance Stephenson and now Isiah Whitehead.
And whether it's the black-and-white Nets Shop at 3015 Stillwell Ave. or the proximity of Barclays Center, easily accessible by the D, N and Q subway lines, the Nets are making headway in Coney Island. The recent New York Times survey of fan "likes" on Facebook showed that while 28 percent of zip code 11224 remain loyal to the Knicks, the Nets now top 20 percent. Hard to believe those numbers were even close two years ago.
The store is hard to miss, located between Surf Ave. and the Boardwalk, across the street from the original Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog stand and next to the historic Wonder Wheel. In addition to merchandise found at the Nets store at Barclays Center the beachside store will feature merchandise for the sun and sand, including sunglasses, beach towels, flip flops, and swimwear—all in the brand’s signature black-and-white color scheme.
It's open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
