With the Canton Charge this season, Gutierrez averaged nearly 14 points per game on 46% shooting and played 32 minutes per game. He also averaged more then one steal per game in his 35 games with Canton.
Gutierrez has been with the Nets for over a month now, averaging four points in 15 games with Brooklyn. However, the reserve guard hasn't seen any floor time in the Nets first five playoff games with the Raptors. The Nets did sign Gutierrez to a two-year deal after his 10-day contracts expired, so he will be around for hopefully more playoff runs.
In addition to Gutierrez, another player with Nets connection made the first team all-D-League. Adonis Thomas, who was in Nets camp and played most of the season in Springfield, improved significantly during the season and received two call-ups, from the Magic and 76ers. The Nets would like to sign him for summer league, but they will have competition.
