Masai Ujiri on his 'F--- Brooklyn!' moment: "My mom taught me better than that"

Raptors GM Masai Ujiri was on SiriusXM NBA Radio with Frank Isola and Stacy King on Monday morning, where he used his time to speak about the series between his Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets as well as share his regret for the words he used prior to Saturday's Game One.

Ujiri told Isola that he used the "wrong choice of words," going on to say "my mom taught me better than that." Ujiri also said that he sent a text to Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King to apologize, as well as the NBA.

Meanwhile, Toronto writer Mike Ganter tweeted that Ujiri will NOT be fined by the NBA but has been warned...

Ujiri did receive a warning from the league.

"For me it wasn't about (the Brooklyn Nets)," Ujiri said. "For me, it was about us." He said it was in part trying to build a culture in Toronto and show that they believe in themselves. It was about the crowd and the support, Ujiri said, and he was trying to show his support.

"It was time we stand up and try and be a good team," he finished with, reiterating that his comment was more about hyping up the Toronto fans than shooting down the borough of Brooklyn and the Nets organization.
