Bulls waive Tornike Shengelia

Maddie Meyer

The Bulls announced Monday afternoon that they have waived former Nets reserve Tornike Shengelia. Shengelia was traded from Brooklyn to Chicago in exchange for Marquis Teague in January.  The Bulls then signed Greg Smith, who had been cut by the Rockets last week. Smith is ineligible for the playoffs.

Shengelia played in only nine games while in Chicago and averaged less than half a point per game.

Toko will hit waivers now, and if he clears, will become an unrestricted free agent.
