Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

BROOKLYN - Jason Kidd announced that Deron Williams will not play on Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks. He will be replaced Jorge Gutierrez in the starting lineup.

The Nets are saying that Williams has right patella tendinitis, and it's more precautionary than anything and Kidd wanted to get him some rest heading into the playoffs.

Kidd also said that Andray Blatche, who missed the last two games with an illness, is available and they will see "how he goes" in giving him minutes.

Shaun Livingstonas reported earlier, is out with a sprained toe on his right foot.

UPDATE: Late notice, Alan Anderson is OUT with a sore abdominal muscle. Andrei Kirilenko will start in his place.
