Nets brought in Jorge Gutierrez & Darius Johnson-Odom for an audition this week, but Gutierrez appeared to have edge after good camp showing

Gutierrez has played 35 games with the Canton Charge in the D-League this season, scoring 13 points and dishing out nearly 7 assists. Gutierrez, 25, reportedly had the edge on DJO to get called up due to his short tenure with the Nets during the preseason.
Gutierrez, like his new boss, played at Cal, but unlike Jason Kidd, he spent four years there, winning the PAC-10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the year in 2012. Last summer, before joining the Nets in training camp, Gutierrez led Mexico to the FIBA Americas championship, something Kidd did twice. Gutierrez, who grew up in Denver, will become only the second active NBA player from Mexico, joining Gustavo Ayon. He will also be the Nets third international player, joining Andrei Kirilenko of Russia and Mirza Teletovic of Bosnia.
The Nets can use Gutierrez as a facilitator in minimal minutes as Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston play a majority of the game and Marquis Teague has tailed off after a decent sInsert Linktart to his Brooklyn career.
