WPIX-TV to open live studio, news bureau at Barclays Center

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

WPIX, already a sponsor at Barclays Center, will open a live studio and Brooklyn news bureau at the arena. The studio is being built in a retail space along Flatbush Avenue, not far from the entrance plaza. It will be only Brooklyn news bureau maintained by a local TV station.

The studio will be used for daily live shots in PIX11’s signature newscasts, as well as for special presentations around big concerts and shows, civic and political events, discussions, debates and community activities, according to the station. In addition to the Nets and WPIX, the strategic partnership behind the facility includes the Islanders.

PIX11 will also be the presenting partner of BCTV – the arena's in-arena and online video network featuring original content about the arena’s events. BCTV programming appears on the arena's 700 HDTVs prior to and following events, as well as online at BarclaysCenter.com.

Rich Graziano, the president and general manager of the station, also sits on the arena's advisory board.
