Brooklyn Nets practice roundup: Bojan Bogdanovic practices with the starters

As training camp continues, now in its fifth day, the Nets are still looking for their fifth starter to complement the core four. Today, it was Bojan Bogdanovic who ran with the starting unit. The training camp competition for the final starting position, which  Lionel Hollins said will be a guard, is likely to come down to the Croatian rookie and the veteran Alan Anderson.

The Nets may be more efficient offensively with Bogdanovic on the floor, as Tim Bontemps notes...

Here's a video the Nets posted of Bogdanovic taking a feed from Kevin Garnett and scoring on a layup in traffic.

Anderson, whose defense could give him an advantage, ran with the starters on Monday and Andrei Kirilenko also saw time with the starters before he went down. The Nets preseason opener against Maccabi Tel Aviv at Barclays Center is now a mere six days away.

Meanwhile, Deron Williams continues to impress the media during the limited portion of practice they're able to see...

Williams looks much leaner, although he says he's carrying the same weight as last season. A number of the writers have noted his confidence as well.  D-Will also seems to be a fan of new coach Lionel Hollins, who is expected to be much more direct with his players this season.

"I think that's something coach talked about today," Williams said, "was kind of we haven't talked about roles specifically this year. But they'll be defined at some point during the preseason. I think that's what this time is about, is finding out chemistry and what team we're going to be like, what guys like to do.

"Part of that is finding our roles, and I think coach will do a good job of defining those roles."

On the injury front, Kirilenko is still nursing his tight back, but today it was fellow Russian Sergey Karasev who joined AK on the sidelines. Karasev had a blister on his foot and that he wanted to take it slow today. The guard plans to practice Thursday before the Nets get the day off on Friday, their first since they opened camp last weekend.
