Peter Vecsey, who broke several stories during last summer's free agency, now tweets that the Nets are among five teams interested in Jordan Crawford, the 6'4" combo guard who two months was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week but has since fallen out of favor. Vecsey listed Brooklyn first among interested teams.

Vecsey provided no details on who any of the teams would deal for Crawford, the relative level of interest or when a trade could go down. Rajon Rondo is expected to return to action this week, leaving Crawford without much of a role. Crawford was originally drafted by the Nets in 2010. His rights were immediately traded to Atlanta for those of Damion James and German center Tibor Pleiss.
He's averaging 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 30.7 minutes per game, a little above his career averages. He's started 35 games for the Celtics. The week of December 9, when the Celtics went 3-0, he averaged 23.3 points and 6.7 assists and won Eastern Conference player or the week Since then, his game has tailed off and his well-known propensity for forcing shots and turning the ball over has become evident.
