Bojan Bogdanovic is seen as one of the two top Euro-Stashed players, the other being the Bulls' pick, Nikola Mirotic, a 6'10" forward for Real Madrid. Like Bogdanovic last season, Mirotic has a huge buyout and the Bulls, who want to bring Mirotic to Chicago next season, hinted this weekend it's unlikely. Bogdanovic's status, as we've reported, remains uncertain.
Both picked in the 2011 draft, Mirotic at #23, Bogdanovic at #31, it's possible neither will be in the NBA next season ... three years after being drafted. There's no doubt of how good they are. Bogdanovic is Europe's highest scorer, Mirotic its most efficient player. Is it possible that these two examples will make drafting a top European less likely?
Bogdanovic played only only 14 minutes in Fenerbahce's 101-69 blowout win in the Turkish League Sunday, scoring five points on 2-of- 6 shooting, including 0-of-3 from deep. Bogdanovic has now missed nine straight three's in the last week.
Fener coach Zeljko Obradovic may be resting Bogdanovic for his team's big game in Spain next Friday vs. Unicaja of Malaga. Fener is 0-2 in the Euroleague Round of 16 and another loss would make getting a high seed in the playoffs increasingly difficult. Will he be in London Thursday? Doubt it. Fener wants to keep him away from the Nets.
