Bojan Bogdanovic, Mirza Teletovic score 17 each in Eurobasket prelimins

Bojan Bogdanovic in a surprisingly easy win and Mirza Teletovic in an expected loss each scored 17 points Friday, but Bogdanovic's performance against Montenegro got more praise.

The 6'8" swingman's anticipated arrival next season could take some of the sting out of trading away the 2014 first rounder in the Celtics trade, so his Eurobasket performances are being watched closely by the Nets' front office.

Bogdanovic played aggressively, going to the line 10 times in the 72-60 win over Montenegro. Croatian reports called Bogdanovic's game "dominating" and "brilliant," noting he was the best player on the court and that included the Magic's Nikola Vucevic who finished with nine points for Montenegro. Croatia was without two starters and three rotation players and had lost three straight "friendlies," which Bogdanovic had attributed to bad defense. They play again Sunday vs. Latvia.

Teletovic did not fare as well against Slovenia, the host of Eurobasket and a team expected to medal in the tournament. He too scored 17, but found himself double and triple teamed.  He finished with 17 of Bosnia's 54 points, shooting 6-of-17, including 2-of-7 from deep. He also grabbed seven boards but turned the ball over three times.  Boki Nachbar, the ex-Net, had six on 1-of-6 shooting for Slovenia, which dominated from the start.  Bosnia plays European powerhouse Russia (without retired Andrei Kirilenko) on Saturday.
