It appears as if former-Net C.J. Watson is closing in on signing a 2-year deal with the Indiana Pacers to be their backup point guard.
It sounds like C.J. Watson's contract with the Indiana Pacers will be a two-year deal. It'll likely be worth more than the minimum.— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) July 1, 2013
Watson, 29, averaged 6.8 points and 2.0 assists per game (19 minutes per) in his only season with the Brooklyn Nets. He was certainly a valued backup point guard, who unfairly will be remembered for missing a wide-open dunk against the Chicago Bulls that would spark a comeback in Game 4 of their first-round series.
The Nets search now continues as they look for a veteran point guard to come off the bench behind Deron Williams and share time with second-year player Tyshawn Taylor.
