Mid-afternoon Wednesday, Stefan Bondy reported that the Nets are talking to the Cleveland Cavaliers about acquiring C.J. Miles for their first round pick in Thursday's Draft. Bondy tweeted...
Source:Nets have talked to the Cavs about acquiring CJ Miles for the No. 22 pick.

Miles is good friends and former teammats with Deron Williams.

Big news, right? Maybe not. A little while later, Bondy tweeted a different story...
Well-connected source refutes CJ Miles talks. Looks like nothing is going on with that, much to joy of Nets fans on my mentions.

The story did seem a bit odd. According to salary sites, he has a team option on a salary of $2,225,000 and the Cavs may very well not renew him. So why trade a pick for a player who could be a free agent next week?
Miles averaged 11.2 points for the Cavs last season, shooting 41.5 percent overall and 38.4 percent from three in 65 games, only 13 of them starts. . Miles has averaged 10 points a game over the last five years, mostly as a sixth man for the Jazz and Cavs.
If the day's other rumor --MarShon Brooks for the 26th pick-- is true, the Nets would essentially be trading Miles for Brooks and dropping four spots in the draft.
