Today the NBA announced that Denver Nuggets' Executive Vide President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri won the 2013 NBA Executive of the Year award. A well-deserved honor, as Denver finished 3rd in the Western Conference with a team that essentially has no "stars" on it.
The award itself is voted on by the league executives, with Ujiri picking up eight first place votes. Finishing in second was Gary Sacks of the Los Angeles Clippers (three first place votes), followed by Daryl Morey (Houston Rockets) and Glen Grunwald (New York Knicks) who tied for third place.
Brooklyn's own Billy King finished 11th in voting, picking up two second place votes and one third place vote.
Since the league started handing out the award (1973), the Nets have one is one time and that was in 2002 when Rod Thorn took home the award.
