Tim Bontemps, Adrian Wojnarowski, David Aldridge and Ken Berger (in that order) report that Phil Jackson has informed the Nets that he will not return to coaching. The Nets were waiting on Jackson before proceeding with other coaching prospects.

All four report as well that Jackson wants to return to the NBA as an executive with control over basketball operations, like his rival, Pat Riley. There was no indication the Nets asked Jackson about an executive position.
