These two tweets don't give one a lot of confidence about the Nets' current situation.
First there's this one quoting Gerald Wallace.

...then there's this one quoting his coach, P.J. Carlesimo.:
PJ: "I have to do a better job constantly of defining roles and redefining roles so we can perform the way we are capable of performing."

It's not as if this is November or December. It's April, the month the team was built for. Those comments came out of Friday's shootaround and although the context is unrefined, the Nets are two games from a first round elimination to the Bulls. And everyone is frustrated.
"I think we’re going through a tough time right now and that’s what playoffs are all about," Carlesimo said. "We’re all frustrated. And we have to – I have to – do a better job of constantly defining roles and redefining roles so we perform the way we’re capable of performing."
As for Wallace, he admitted that the Bulls defense is disruptive. They’re pretty good defensively of pushing you to one side of the court. We haven’t been able to get in transition the past two games, and they’ve done a great job of keeping us from doing that."
