Kris Joseph, Montreal native, tweeted everyone in Springfield "bonne soir, mes amis" just before the Armor tipped off Monday afternoon. His farewell is the closest thing to a confirmation that he'll next show up in a Nets practice jersey, perhaps even before Wednesday's game with the Cavaliers.
Calling himself "blessed," Joseph praised Armor coach Bob MacKinnon, calling him "definitely one of the best coaches/teachers that i have come across," before thanking him. Joseph, a 6'7" swingman, played for the Celtics early in the season,
MacKinnon could use the good vibes. His team lost a tough one Monday afternoon, 83-81, without Joseph, Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor. After an Erie turnover, Springfield had the ball, trailing 82-81 and just 10 seconds to go. Dominique Jones, the former Mavs drove to the rim, but his runner was off the mark. Erie buried a free throw and the Armor lost their 29th game with only three to go.
Willie Reed had 17 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 8-of-10. It was the 22-year-old's 11th double-double. Jones had 15 and Ben Uzoh 16 in the loss to the Knicks affiliate.
