Dominique Jones, Toko Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor play well but Armor lose

Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE

The Austin Toros, the Spurs D-League affiliate, were down 17 points in the fourth quarter to the Armor but outscored the Nets affiliate, 8-2, in overtime to win, 129-123, in Springfield.

It was a good game for three of the Armor's seven players with NBA experience. Dominique Jones, the 6'4" shooting guard signed by the Armor on Monday, scored 28 points on 13 shots, hitting nine. He also handed out nine assists. Tornike Shengelia scored 27 on 11-of-21 shooting and Tyshawn Taylor 25 on 10-of-15. The three, all with supposedly suspect jumpers, finished a combined 8-of-13 from deep.

Willie Reed was out with a sore elbow, but should be back when the Armor play the Maine Red Claws Saturday. Dennis Horner, the ex-Net, and Kenny Adeleke filled in.

Taylor and Shengelia are expected to play another four games in Springfield while the Nets are on the road.
