With Bojan Bogdanovic out with a mild Achilles sprain, Fenerbahce was blown out by Caja Laboral of Spain, 87-67, ending the Turkish club's chances for the Euroleague playoffs. The Spanish club, where Mirza Teletovic and Pablo Prigioni played last season, raced out to a 46-22 lead at the half and then coasted home. The loss mathematically eliminated Fener.
Bogdanovic is expected to miss this weekend's Turkish League game as well as next week's now-meaningless Euroleague contest. Fener is still leading the TBL.
Ilkan Karaman, the Nets' other Euro-Stash on Fener, saw extended minutes for the first time in several weeks. The 6'10" power forward scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting in 17 minutes. He also grabbed three rebounds but picked up three fouls as well. The Nets don't anticipate Karaman joining the NBA next season. Picked at #57 in last June's Draft, Karaman was a small risk. Leading the way for Caja Laboral was Tibor Pleiss, who the Nets took in the 2010 draft and then promptly traded to Atlanta along with Jordan Crawford for Damion James. The Hawks sold his rights to the Thunder. The seven-footer scored 14 points and grabbed six boards.
