Willie Reed, the Armor's 6'10" center, got a rare start at center Thursday night and came through with a monster game as Springfield won its fourth straight home at home, beating the Texas Legends, 92-89, in overtime. The Legends are the Mavericks' affiliate. Reed, out of St. Louis University, had 20 points (on 10-of-12 shooting) to go with 15 rebounds and five blocks.
Kris Joseph, the former Celtic, shot 4-of-15 for 18 points. Ben Uzoh, the ex-Net, also played well, finishing with 15 points and seven assists. Johnson twice gave the Armor the lead with three-pointers, then salted away the game when Texas missed on the final seconds, Reed rebounded the miss and passed to Uzoh who fould Johnson for a layup at the buzzer.
