Nothing official yet on whether Joe Johnson will return to action vs. the Mavericks, but he's optimistic.
"It’s better. It’s not 100 percent, but it’s definitely a lot better. I’m able to get out here and move around, work out and get back acclimated with the guys. I missed that more than anything," Johnson said of his heel.
Johnson has missed three games, two of which the Nets lost. His place has been filled with hot-shooting C.J. Watson but his role has been filled by Deron Williams, whose post-All Star Game numbers are reminiscent of what he put up at Utah and on occasion since. He too continues to undergo treatment.
MarShon Brooks (sprained wrist) and Jerry Stackhouse (personal reasons) were not on hand. At the end of practice, with the beat writers watching, Brook Lopez, Mirza Teletovic and Gerald Wallace engaged in a half-court shoot out. They all made at least one shot, but Wallace apparently made more.
