Bojan Bogdanovic stats getting to historic levels in Europe

Fenerbahce

Bojan Bogdanovic plays later Thursday in a Euroleague game vs. Montepaschi Siena, traditionally one of Europe's top teams. Their chanes of making the Euroleague playoffs are virtually nil after last week's blowout loss to F.C. Barcelona, which led to the forced resignation of Fener's coach.

In an interview last week, just before the Barcelona game, Bogdanovic sat down with an interviewer from the Euroleague on how he's doing in the Round of 16, the intermediate competition between the regular season and playoffs. There was no discussion of the Nets or the NBA --this is the official Euroleague site. In the prelude to the interview, the interviewer put his season in perspective...

Bogdanovic leads the Top 16 in scoring with 21.7 points per game, the fourth-highest average in this competition phase all century. He performance index rating, 23.4 per game, is the Top 16's third-best of the last seven seasons. He has also hit 36 of his last 37 free throw attempts, with the second-best average, 6.7 per game, in Top 16 history

Sometime soon, the Nets are expected to talk with him and his agent about his interest in joining the team next season.

On Thursday, Bogdanovic had another big game but his team lost again. Bogdanovic had 22 points on 6-of-12 shooting and went to the line 10 times, making nine, in the loss to Montepaschi Siena. Ilkan Karaman had four points in 11 minutes.
