The Armor won their third straight game Saturday night, beating the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in Springfield with Willie Reed hitting a career-high 27 and Kris Joseph finishing with 21. In three games with Springfield, Joseph, the former Celtic small forward, is averaging 24 points. The Armor are now 12-21.
It was another big step for Reed, the 22-year-old St. Louis product. After being most a defensive and rebounding presence early in the season, the 6'10" Reed has become an offensive threat. In February, he's averaging 16.8 points on 54.8 percent shooting. But in the last two games, he's averaged 25.0 points on 69 percent shooting (20-of-29)
The athletic Reed went undrafted in June's NBA Draft, was invited to Kings camp, was cut and then taken in the fifth round by the Armor. The Nets do not hold his rights. Milton Lee, who drafted Reed and traded for Joseph, spoke earlier this week about the team's prospects.
