According to Sam Amico of Fox Sports, the Brooklyn Nets are currently "exploring" trade talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On top of talking to Hawks about Josh Smith, Nets have also have had conversations with Cavs recently. All exploratory only.

Nothing specific here, nothing concrete. Just a conversation or two.
The Cavs recently made a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies that centered around Marreese Speights coming to Cleveland and Jon Leuer going the Memphis -- with two other players and a draft pick heading the Cleveland.
The speculation is, surely, that there might be some interest in Anderson Varejao, on the Nets end, but of course Varejao is out for the season, after injuring his calf and then developing a blood clot in his lung. So, in that sense, any deal surrounding Varejao would not help the Nets this season.
