The NBA announced today that Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau has won the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month award for the month of January. Thibodeau's Bulls went 12-4 on the month, pushing them to a 28-17 record overall.
Now, normally this wouldn't be posting on a Nets site, but seeing as P.J. Carlesimo was in the running to win this award, I figured it was worth noting. Especially since, well, Avery Johnson had won the award in November and was then fired less than a month later.
Carlesimo's Nets went 11-4 on the month, after starting January with seven straight wins, but have lost three of their last four games, with all three losses coming to playoff-bound teams and by double digits.
The Nets take on Thibodeau and the Bulls tonight at the Barclays Center.
