As Fenerbahce's very expensive dream of a Euroleague championship for Turkey fades, Bojan Bogdanovic continues to play well, filling it up again Thursday night vs. Olympiacos of Greece. Bogdanovic scored 20 points of his team's 71 in the loss. Bogdanovic is now averaging 21.2 points a game in the Euroleague's Round of 16, second in the league. He leads the Euroleague Round of 16 in trips to the foul line, averaging close to eight a game and making 91 percent of them.
In Thursday's game, he shot 5-of-11, 2-of-5 from three. Eight times he went to the line and eight times he scored. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
As noted last week, Bogdanovic has a huge buyout this summer, roughly $2 million. That would make it difficult for him to sign with the Nets. Under NBA rules, a team can only pay $570,000 of the buyout. The Nets have approached Fener in the past about renegotiating the deal, but failed. The 23-year-old's contract with the Istanbul club runs out after the 2013-14 season.
