Brook Lopez to undergo surgery next week

Lenn Robbins, the Nets' in-house beat reporter, tweets that Brook Lopez will undergo surgery --his fourth in three years-- in January. It will not affect his return. He is out for the season.

Lopez had two surgeries in the 2011-12 season to deal with fractures of the same bone, then another last summer to replace a bent screw.

Later, the Nets confirmed the report, adding more details.

Brook Lopez will have surgery to repair the fractured 5th metatarsal of his right foot Jan. 4 more info will be released after the surgery
