Nets recall Toko Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor from Springfield

The Nets have recalled Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor from their D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor.

The two played only one game in this recent reassignment in Springfield before getting recalled, which was last night. Shengelia went for 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Taylor had a rough night against the Maine Red Claws, only playing 19 minutes while committing seven turnovers and scoring three points. The Armor came out with a rare victory, beating the Red Claws, 93-74.

In two games (both starts) with the Armor, Shengelia averaged 17.0 points on 55.6% shooting with 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 29.5 minutes per game. He scored a game-high 23 points in the Armor’s 93-74 victory over the Maine Red Claws yesterday. In two games (one start), Taylor averaged 9.0 points, 4.0 assists and 1.50 steals in 25.5 minutes per game.

In 11 games this season with the Nets, Shengelia is averaging 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game. In 17 games (three starts) this season, Taylor is averaging 4.9 points and 2.1 assists in 14.6 minutes per game.

The two were called up for availability at the team's game against the Indiana Pacers tonight. The Armor do not play tonight.
