The Nets have decided to send Tyshawn Taylor and Toko Shengelia to Springfield, where they will play against the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat's D-League affiliate, Saturday night and Maine Red Claws, the Celtics affiliate Sunday
The Nets have yo-yoed the two players a number of times in the last two years, sending them up to Springfield for D-League game or two and then bringing them back for an NBA game. So it's possible (although it would seem unlikely) they'll be brought back for Monday's game or their southwestern road trip. Could it signal an early return for Andrei Kirilenko and/or Jason Terry?
The two second year players could certainly help out the Armor, who are 1-8. Taylor could be particularly helpful since Doug Overton has been without a legitimate point guard all season. Shengelia would likely take the place of the injured Adonis Thomas, out with knee soreness.
In 10 games (all starts) with the Armor during the 2012-13 D-League season, Shengelia averaged 24.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 36.6 minutes per game. In eight games (all starts) with the Armor last season, Taylor averaged 24.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 37.5 minutes per game.
