Eight days after being diagnosed with a broken hand, Paul Pierce will come off the bench against his former team, the Boston Celtics.

Kidd said that he wants Pierce to get used to playing with the protective glove on his hand and get back into the flow of the offense. Alan Anderson will start again at small forward.

Yesterday at practice, Kidd and Pierce brought up that the former Celtic could come off the bench, so tonight can be a chance to see how Pierce fares a part of the Nets' second unit.

In regards to Deron Williams, he will start in his first game since November 20, but Kidd did not say if he would be on a minute limit or not.

The starting lineup of Williams, Joe Johnson, Anderson, Kevin Garnett, and Brook Lopez will be the ninth starting lineup the Nets have used this season.
