The Armor roster says Willie Reed is 6'9". He says he's 6'11" but either way, he's starting to show that he's "big" enough to get called up to the NBA. Reed scored 23 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including two monster put-back slams. With scouts from all 30 NBA teams on hand at the D-League Showcase in Reno, Reed's likely to get more notice than he normally would. (Although he plays for the Nets' affiliate, he can be called up by any NBA team.)
The Armor broke a six-game losing streak, beating the Sioux Falls Skyforce, thanks to Reed and Nets camp invite Carleton Scott, a 6'8" small forward. Scott scored 23 on 8-of-13 shooting. He nailed 5-of-8 attempts from behind the three-point line and recorded six rebounds, five steals and three assists. Also part of the Armor onslaught: Ramone Moore and Christian Polk, with 19 and 12.
