NBA Commissioner David Stern has named Brook Lopez to the Eastern Conference All-Star Team, replacing Rajon Rondo who tore his ACL Sunday.
For Lopez, it will be his first All-Star appearance. For the Nets, he is the 13th Net selected and the first Brooklyn Net.
Lopez has been leading NBA centers in scoring for most of the season and has been in the top five of the Player Efficiency Ratings as well.
Brook spoke about the selection prior to the start of Nets-Heat, saying, "It's a huge honor. First and foremost I couldn't have done it without my teammates... they make my job 100-times easier... playing with Deron, Joe, Gerald, they gift wrap my buckets and take a lot of attention away from me on the court... It is something I've been working toward and is a goal of mine and it will definitely be an exciting weekend."
