"The Association" takes look at Brooklyn Nets turn under P.J. Carlesimo

"The Association" via Brooklyn Nets

After the trauma of Avery Johnson's departure, "The Association" is moving on, just like the Nets. The episode airs for the first time at 6:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

As Episode 7 begins, in early December, PJ Carlesimo has taken over on an interim basis and the team has regained its winning form. Fans will get a better understanding of why the players are responding better to their new head coach than their old.

In one excerpt, the Nets play a home-and-home series against Atlanta, the first game Joe Johnson's return to Atlanta where he was a six-time All-Star. Viewers will see his ATL homecoming and spend some time with the offensive star who’s come up big in crunch-time for the Nets several times this season.

The episode also catches up with Johnson’s understudy, 2nd year player MarShon Brooks. After surviving his rookie duties, he’s trying to find a role on this team, but he knows he’s solid in the role of big brother as he visits his 13-year old sister’s basketball practice during an offday.

The episode concludes with the final regular-season chapter in the Crosstown Series against the Knicks – it’s an all-access look at Brooklyn’s win in Madison Square Garden, featuring more late-game heroics by Joe Johnson.
