No Dominic McGuire, No problem. Josh Childress, who was supposed to work out with (against?) Dominic McGuire Tuesday, will now workout alone in front of Billy King and Avery Johnson, Mike Mazzeo reports. McGuire reached an agreement to sign with the Raptors on Sunday.
The two 6'9" small forwards were believed to be the Nets leading candidates to back up Gerald Wallace. Childress was once considered a rising star when he played at Atlanta but a two-year foray in Greece was ultimately disappointing and the Suns traded for his rights in 2010 and signed him to a five year deal that ultimately proven as disappointing as the Nets deal with Travis Outlaw and he was amnestied in July with $21 million remaining on his contract.
If the Nets like what they see and hear, they'll reportedly offer him a one-year, non-guaranteed deal.
