Elimination play at the Olympics got underway on Wednesday with Russia, Spain, Argentina and the U.S. advancing to the semifinals. In USA's 119-86 win over Australia, Deron Williams scored 18 points in 22 minutes.
Williams shot 3-for-7 from downtown and got to the line seven times, with 11 of his points coming in the first half. He added three rebounds and two assists and is now averaging 10 points and five assists in six games. Kobe Bryant led the U.S. with 20 points and LeBron James recorded the first USA triple-double in Olympic history.
USA plays Argentina in the semifinals at 4 p.m. ET on Friday.
