Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries each said that the Nets did not talk to them about sign-and-trade deals as part of a Dwight Howard trade in July. But Armon Johnson has a different story.
The third-string point guard, who joined the team in April and is still a free agent, was asked by the Nets to sit out of Summer League in case he was involved in a deal with the Magic. Johnson was set to play for the Pistons in Orlando and took part in the team's Summer League camp, but then obliged the Nets when they asked him not to participate. Jeff Schwartz is listed as Johnson's agent.
Johnson told the Reno Gazette-Journal that he's "talking to some teams" about a deal for next season.
