Agent Greg Nunn tells HoopsHype his client Vernon Macklin, who played with Detroit last season, has drawn interest from Nets, Suns, Bucks, Trail Blazers and Lakers. Macklin, a 6-foot-10 power forward, has offers on the table from Turkey and Greece as well, according to Nunn. Macklin was cut by Detroit last month.
Macklin played limited minutes for the Pistons last season, averaging 2.0 points in less than six minutes per game. In a 10-game D-League stint with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Macklin averaged 16.6 points and 17.2 rebounds. Presumably the Nets interest in Macklin would be limited, at least initially, to a training camp invite. He played his college back at Georgetown and Florida. He was selected #52 in the 2011 NBA Draft.
