The Nets will play six pre-season games, including three games at Barclays Center. They will also play at Nassau Coliseum vs. the Knicks on October 24, a "home" game; and at Atlantic City Convention Center vs. the 76ers on October 13, an away game. The A.C. venue for the 76ers games is not yet official but league sources suggest it is likely
The three games at Barclays are vs. Wizards on October 15; vs. Celtics on October 18 and vs. the 76ers on October 19. The Nets also play Celtics at Boston on October 16. With the Islanders-Devils pre-season game now in jeopardy because of NHL labor strife, it looks like Nets vs. Wizards will be first professional sports event in Brooklyn since 1957.
"We are pleased to offer the three preseason games at Barclays Center," said Billy King. "There is a growing anticipation regarding Brooklyn, and these pre-season games will give our fans a chance to sample the arena prior to the start of the regular season."
The Nets normally play eight preseason games. Why so few this season? The MSG is struggling to complete its second year of renovation at the Garden. As a result, the Knicks won't play any home preseason games.
