Eurobasket Opens Wednesday

The EuroNets will be busy the next three weeks with the FIBA Eurobasket Qualifying Tournament. Mirza Teletovic, Tornike Shengelia, Bojan Bogdanovic and Ilkan Karaman represent four of the 31 teams in the tournament vying for 16 spots in next year's European championships in Slovenia.

Eight teams have already qualified: Slovenia as host; France, Spain and Great Britain, as Olympic teams, and Russia, Greece, Lithuania and Macedonia as participants in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament earlier this summer. That makes a total of 24 next summer. And unlike the "friendly" tournaments, there will be one website with all the boxscores and highlights, and in English.
