One thing's for sure: whether this trade goes through or not, the Nets will need bodies to fill out their roster come October. Salary cap restraints brought on by the re-signing of Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace; the trade for Joe Johnson and a possible acquisition of Dwight Howard (or alternately, a max contract for Brook Lopez) will mean a number of minimum salaried players at the end of the bench.
That's where the summer league, which starts Monday at 11 a.m., comes in. In addition to MarShon Brooks (who may or may not be with the team at week's end), the Nets will be auditioning newly signed draft pick Tyshawn Taylor; D-League center Jeff Foote; former lottery picks Adam Morrison and Al Thornton; and camp sensation Toko Shengelia. Monday's game as well as the rest of the games will be carried on NBA TV
