For the first time in franchise history, a Nets team will play as the "Brooklyn Nets." One of last year's top rookies will try to enhance his career. Two promising draft picks will get a shot to show what they're made of and two former lottery picks are hoping to resurrect their careers.
But none of that will be the news starting Monday at 11 a.m. when teams take the court at the Magic practice facility. The "news" will be the latest trade rumors, which circulated widely, some might say wildly, on the internet throughout the day. And the Orlando Sentinel reports that things could get even more intense.
"Magic general manager Rob Hennigan and Nets general manager Billy King have been in contact for days, but now they can have face-to-face conversations about a possible trade involving Howard," writes Josh Robbins. He didn't say they would, only that they can. The game will be televised on NBA TV and online, with a subscription.
