Workers will soon install a "Barclays Center" logo on the roof of the Nets new arena, according to the latest construction alert filed by New York's Empire State Development Corporation. If the original plan is followed, the logo will be illuminated at night. Critics have complained about the logo signage.
In addition, the report states work has begun on the arena's most distinctive design element, the "oculus" over the entrance plaza. The opening to the sky will feature a 360 degree LED display, visible on leaving the Transit Connection, which is expected to be completed in August. Already, the escalators and elevators from the subway connection are already installed.
