After being thrown off the Croatian national team for violating team curfew --and showing up out of shape and overweight-- Bojan Bogdanovic apologized to his team and accepted his punishment. His coach, however, said that despite the apology, he would not be returning to the national team this year. Bogdanovic is the team's best player.
"No one was with me. I'm guilty, apologize and accept the punishment," said the Nets second round draft pick from 2011. His coach, Jasmin Represa, said there was no place for Bogdanovic on this year's team, adding, "I did what I had to do." Bogdanovic, 23, was caught returning to the team hotel at 5 a.m. after a night of partying.
The question now is whether Bogdanovic's antics will help the Nets free him up before next July, when he has a buyout. His new coach at Fenerbahce is reportedly not a fan of his game. So much so that F.C. Barcelona made a bid for him last week, hoping Fener would let him go. Fener ownership declined the offer.
