Avery Johnson, at Wednesday's press conference, said the Nets are still looking for a couple of pieces and again suggested that versatility is going to be a big part of the Nets thinking as the team gets closer to the end of free agency and the beginning of season preparations.
Johnson said the Nets are looking for a back-up center and a back-up small forward. The team currently has 12 players either committed or under contract. Eleven players have signed while Keith Bogans' details has yet to be finalized. There've been reports the Nets are looking at Nazr Mohammed and Ryan Hollins for back-up center and talking to SF Damion James about coming back. The team has yet to decide, at least publicly, on signing Toko Shengelia, the 20-year-old second round pick who played well in summer league.
Johnson also said that he may use Mirza Teletovic, who's 6'9" and 240, at both power forward and center.
