The Nets now have 10 players under contract with the official signings of Jerry Stackhouse, the 37-year-old swingman, and Mirza Teletovic, the 26-year-old Bosnian forward. Stackhouse was signed to a vets minimum deal while Teletovic agreed to a three year, $10 million contract.
Stackhouse, who played only 30 games last season with the Hawks, will be paid the veterans minimum. He's the third Nets player who's agreed to the minimum after Tyshawn Taylor and C.J. Watson. Teletovic, who the Nets have already had in for a press conference (with Reggie Evans), played for Caja Laboral in the Spanish League. He averaged 21.7 points in the Euroleague regular season, the league high. He first agreed to the MLE, then decided to take less in order to help the Nets maintain flexibility.
No word yet on Kris Humphries or Darko Milicic. The Nets are in need of front court depth. Tim Bontemps reported Monday morning that the Nets are open to bringing Damion James back on a small contract.
