He wouldn't say the Nets won't revisit the Dwightmare, but Billy King did say "We had our run at Dwight" when asked Sunday about the status of trade talks with the Magic.
In talking with ESPN Radio's Ian O'Connor, the Nets GM said that the Nets have moved on. "We're not focusing on that," King said when asked if the Nets would revisit trade talks for Dwight Howard at the February trade deadline. "We have a great young center. We're going to add some pieces. We're not looking at Dwight Howard. We had our run at Dwight and now we go forward." He then added, "as good as Dwight is, Brook Lopez has averaged 20 points in this league."
On Deron Williams, King said "without those moves (to acquire Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson), I would say he probably would be in Dallas." Now, though, he thinks this week's moves will be as "decisive" to the franchise as the trade for Jason Kidd in 2001. As for Kris Humphries, King again said he believes Hump will be back. "We'd like to bring him back. I think we will get there."
