Marc Spears reports Wednesday night that the Cavs have had talks with the Nets on a possible sign-and-trade deal for free agent power forward Antawn Jamison.
Peter Vecsey says the talks are serious. "Nets' talk re sign-n-trade for Jamison is as serious as it can get without it actually being done. How can they do better than pro's pro?"
Jamison turned 36 last month and has averaged 19.5 points per game in 14 seasons. He averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds last season, but shot just 40 percent from the field, a career low.
Spears tweets that the Warriors, Bobcats and Lakers are also interested in Jamison, but the Lakers can only offer him the veteran's minimum. The Nets would likely have to work a double sign-and-trade with Kris Humphries.
Adrian Wojnarowski adds that the Nets are also considering Craig Smith and Kenyon Martin.
