A French basketball site is reporting that the Nets are in the lead --"the franchise most 'hot'"-- for the services of Mirza Teletovic, the 6'9" Bosnian stretch forward who agreed this week to pay his Spanish League team more than $2 million so he can play in the NBA. BasketUSA reports that "contacts have already been made with the player."
Meanwhile, a news site in Teletovic's homeland reports that the Euroleague's leading scorer "should participate in this year's summer league in the United States." The Nets will play in the Orlando Summer League starting on July 9. The Las Vegas Summer League, which will include teams from Teletovic's three other suitors (the Suns, Cavaliers and Knicks) begins on July 13.
In an interview with a local paper in Tuzla, Bosnia, Teletovic confirmed that he wants a career in the NBA, but did not specify a team.
